Why even the learned people are easily getting manipulated by the fake news?

I’m writing after a long time. I was too lazy to write about anything in the past year or so. But this I was compelled to write this time because I felt that no one was talking about this aspect of fake news or polarization.
My subject of discussion for this time is polarization of the educated and some would even call “the intellectuals”. I would definitely not call myself an expert in this subject of polarization but all I’m doing is raising questions and trying to answer them by making a hypothesis. I will say one more time that my answer is strictly a hypothesis and nothing more. Let me get to you, slowly, step by step.

Since when did RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) become so important in our national political scenario? Pre 2014 election there were no significant outrage against Muslims and other minorities. Why did Modi become so popular all of a sudden? Why are people talking about Hindu supremacy or Hindutva a lot? The sudden change (2014-2020) in mindsets of people pertains to only one thing that is “POLARIZATION OF THE MIND”.

You could talk for hours about how an uneducated or unemployed person can become polarized. But there are a significant number of educated, well learned and even intellectuals who have gotten polarized. This is a serious issue we have. The problem is not why people believe in right-wing ideologies but believing them blindly is the question and that too by educated and well- learned people.

The answer is my hypothesis. I still don’t have enough sample to prove its statistical validity but it is what it is. So, here it is. The concept of fake news or biased news or biased perspectives came a little late. When the public got the attention of it, well it was too late. So, when these bunch of intellectuals got to know that there exists a propagation fake news, they thought that people who had secular mindset were the ones who were spreading fake news. Now this was a precarious situation where the victim thinks that he was not affected by this propaganda but others were.  The reason for this is the human nature and the media obviously. Why human nature, you ask? The nature, which precisely makes them an intellectual is their downfall. Their arrogance, self- belief and thinking of others below them is what caused this. The felling of “how can I be wrong” is the true culprit here.

What people don't understand is that admins of various pages target such audiences who can be easily manipulated. When people read a certain article which is full of biased perspectives, these people feel that they have learned something new but that is nothing but pure manipulation of your mind. First they will capture your attention and try to delete all your believes and then plant their own ideas ( like in inception) and voila!!! a Bhakt is made.

Ever heard of this big propaganda machine known as the BJP IT CELL? This is the beloved department of Modi and Shah which ultimately helps them to win elections. Now people might argue that the INC or AAP has also IT cells. But the fact of the matter is only BJP party has such kind of monies to withstand such a vast network of fake news peddlers. Then you might ask how does the BJP have such kind of money and others not. My answer will be- there can be a separate blog for this. When you combine digital media and traditional media for propaganda, the result is a weapon of mass destruction. The digital marketing folks would understand this phenomenon.

So my advice, no matter how learned you become or how good you do in your life, the one thing you should never forget to do is ask the right questions!!!!

The politics we should know

In my last blog post I briefly talked about how one should look at the Indian politics. There I wrote that one should have a through background check of their own favourite political parties. But in this post I'm not going to write about the history and background of  various political parties because that would be educating you people . I don't want to educate people  , I want to raise the awareness among the masses. Hopefully I may succeed in that one day but that day is far far away from happening . So today I'm going to talk about how the political parties should be segregated or organised at least in our minds.

Left–right political spectrum

The left–right political spectrum is a system of classifying political positions, ideologies and parties, from equality on the left to social hierarchy on the right. Left-wing and right-wing politics are often seen opposed. Although a particular individual or group may take a left-wing stance on one matter and a right-wing stance on another; and some stances may overlap and be considered either left- or right-wing depending on the ideology. This is the general method of looking at the political parties all over the world. But when it comes to the Indian politics the scene is not the same.

These terms have a confusing meaning in the Indian context ,but historically "Right" has broadly come to be associated with conservative parties while "Left" with socialist parties.
Conservatism is a political and social philosophy promoting traditional social institutions in the context of culture and civilization. The central tenets of conservatism include tradition, human imperfection, organic society, hierarchy and authority, and property rights.
Socialism on the other hand is a range of economic and social systems characterised by social ownership and workers' self management of the means of production as well as the political theories and movements associated with them. But don't let these words and definitions fancy your thinking.
The above words have a very different relevance in the Indian context. To simplify the above words in Indian context let's look at the picture below.
And this is how the Indian media labels the various political parties based on the right-wing and left-wing political perspectives.
I'm not going to explain much on the above picture as it's self explanatory. More can be talked about the right-wing and the left-wing ideologies using INC and BJP as examples but let's keep that for another time.
Till then sayonara!!!!!

THE INDIAN POLITICS - MADE SIMPLER

So, hello patriots this my first blog on one of my real interests - POLITICS. I’m Sanjeev by the way and I’m 20 Years old. But why am I telling you this? I'm telling this because one shouldn't be judged by their age and other being the main reason is that it doesn't even take a 20 year old to crack Indian RAAJNEETI. I mean politics is complicated , but even more complicated when you don't know the history ,the hidden agendas and most importantly the backgrounds of the political parties. Most of the people just go blazing guns on social media on their rival parties without knowing the background of their own party. The another reason why politics in India is complicated because of  the fake news prevailing in our societies. This is the important factor why the decision making of the people is hampered to such extent. People just don't have authenticity in their source of news. Just a few weeks ago whats app was forced to take actions against fake news as it was the major media for fake news to circulate. Another reason why politics in India is complicated is messiahfication(when people make leaders as their savior) . This is one of the dangers our society is facing people are made fool using this as a weakness. These are the fears which is manifested in people's minds by political parties. And this hampers the general decision making and rationale of the masses. So to understand the politics better one needs to be proactive , not follow fake news and have a background check of their own prefered political party. I will be back with another blog on politics and that time we will dwell deeper into the realm of politics.

THE MACHINE IS USING US..

Today our sir Dr. Prithivis Mukherjee stressed to start writing blogs . He asked us to write a comment on a video named "THE MACHINE IS USING US". So I'm going to post a comment on the aforesaid video in this blog. So after seeing the video , I got an impression that it it was referring to the advent of  web 2.0 . This video is about how everything will change after the web 2.0 has come. The video is beautifully made showing how the world would change after web 2.0 . The video starts with the digitization of text and goes on to the data that will be generated by the people when web 2.0 is used to its fullest. First there just used to be text. But the digitization of text can be very useful. Be it hyper texts , hyperlinks , because hypertexts can link. And now a days the view source option  in the browsers can show much more than before. Before HTML was designed to define the structure of a web document. Now we can separate the form and content. So digital text can do better in many ways that just the normal text. Then came XML. It was made for the same purpose as for the HTML. But the main change was it does not define for but defines content. Now data can be exported free of formatting constraints because now would need to use database type of web. As now that the content was separated users need not know to write complex codes to write some articles , that's how easy it has become due to web 2.0 . Now its not just about the text , but also photos and videos like youtube because the XML format permits us to do such things. BASICALLY HTML ALLOWS US TO DISPLAY DATA BUT XML ALLOWS US TO TRANSPORT AND STORE DATA. Two sites can now mash data together. But the real problem starts now ; who will organize the data? . Its we everybody with database type web. But with this amount of data generating we are teaching something to the machine be with typing or clicking. So digital text is no longer linking information. Web as digital text is linking people. People now share , trade and collaborate on the web  and we need to rethink copyrights , authorship , identity , privacy and humanly aspects. So if we need to change ourselves for a machine , its not the machine that is using but its us who are being used the machines.

That time I was super excited about gaming , so i started writing about gaming blogs but i realized that gaming video blogs would make more sense then i stopped blogging.
